Stephen Williams qualifies as an Arbitrator
All at Chambers are delighted to announce that Stephen Williams has qualified as an IFLA Arbitrator under the Financial Scheme as we further strengthen our Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.
Stephen can be instructed to arbitrate in financial remedy matters, TOLATA and Schedule 1 of the Children Act claims.
Arbitration is a viable, cost-effective alternative to court proceedings and is entered into voluntarily by both parties who will agree in advance that the decision made by the arbitrator is binding upon them. Arbitration can also be used by parties to decide on discrete points.
Our service is flexible and can take place remotely or in person and at dates and times convenient to both parties.
Stephen regularly sits as a pFDR Evaluator already where he draws on his experience from sitting as both a Deputy District Judge and Recorder in the Financial Remedies Court.
Stephen is available to instruct as an Arbitrator immediately - please contact our Senior Clerk, Tim Smith for more details on his availability and fees.
Stephen is also available for the first of his 'NCDR weeks' during the week commencing 27 April 2026. Stephen currently has availability for each day this week to sit as either an Arbitrator or pFDR Evaluator which can be hosted at either our Chambers in Nottingham City Centre or another venue to suit the parties. Please contact Tim for more details.
