Overview
Charlotte became a tenant at St. Mary's Chambers in 2026 after successfully completing her pupillage under the supervision of Ben Clulee, Joshua Hazelwood and Sara Davis. She has a busy practice and accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas, including Private and Public Law Children matters, Financial Remedies, and Family Law Act proceedings.
Charlotte is committed to providing a clear and client-focused service. She pays meticulous attention to detail, ensuring cases are prepared in a timely and analytical manner. Charlotte prides herself on her ability to quickly build a rapport with clients by putting them at ease and making them feel seen and heard within their legal proceedings. She provides clear and robust advice in simple English, ensuring that clients feel adequately supported and represented. In Court, Charlotte is recognised for putting her client’s case confidently and persuasively. Lay clients and professional clients often seek to repeatedly instruct Charlotte.
Prior to commencing pupillage at St Mary’s, Charlotte completed her undergraduate legal degree at the University of Nottingham obtaining a first. She volunteered with the AMICUS charity, support through Court and a charity raising awareness and campaigning against FGM. Charlotte studied the Bar Training Course with a masters degree in professional legal studies at BPP University Birmingham, obtaining a scholarship for her commitment to the barrister legal profession and the BTC Excellence scholarship. Before undertaking pupillage Charlotte tutored a-level and university law and volunteered to provide letters of advice for individuals experiencing the family court system without legal advice.
Practice Areas
Charlotte is frequently instructed at all stages of Private Law Children proceedings and has a variety of experience with difficult issues such as domestic abuse, parental alienation, involvement of 16.4 Guardians, search and recovery orders and issues regarding litigation capacity. Charlotte has had a variety of experience in Private Law Children matters. This includes instructions for hearings at all stages in proceedings, including directions hearings, final hearings and fact-finding hearings.
Charlotte accepts instructions in Public Law Proceedings acting for local authorities, parents and children (through their guardian) at all stages of hearings including, contested interim removals, case management, issues resolution hearings, fact finding hearings and final hearings.
Charlotte has experience in various financial remedies proceedings including First Dispute Appointments, directions hearings, divorce proceedings and Financial Dispute Resolution Appointments.
Charlotte has successfully represented applicants and respondents at all stages of Family Law Act proceedings, including Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders. This includes first hearings, return hearings and final hearings in these matters.
