Nigel Page retiring from the Bar

All at St. Mary’s pass on our best wishes to Nigel Page who has made the decision to retire from the Bar on 31st December 2025.
Called in 1976, he began practice in Chambers at Leicester before joining what was 50 High Pavement in 1989 to practice exclusively in family law. He was a founding member of St. Mary’s Chambers in 1999, when 13 members established the first specialist family law Chambers outside of London. Nigel served initially as treasurer for 7 years, before being appointed Head of Chambers in 2003, a position he held for 12 years, during which time Chambers underwent huge expansion and a growth in membership. He also served as Chair of the East Midlands Family Law Bar Association and organised the national conference in 2012.
Nigel has been held in the highest regard by both Chambers and the wider legal community as a financial remedy specialist in the Midlands and beyond for decades and has been the go-to barrister for many clients in complex, high net worth cases. He has been consistently ranked as a leading junior in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners throughout his career – often complimented for his meticulous preparation, the rapport he builds with his clients, and his sharp cross-examination.
Claire Howell, Head of Chambers, commented on Nigel’s retirement: “Nigel is a hugely respected and sought after advocate; this is a loss to Chambers and the legal community but Nigel deserves a long and happy retirement. Everyone that has had the privilege of being a member of Chambers has benefitted from the years of hard work and dedication Nigel bestowed upon Chambers, for which we are all grateful.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Nigel for his commitment and service to Chambers and the wider legal community in the Midlands spanning back over 50 years and wish him a long and happy retirement.
