Overview
Laura has a busy practice and accepts instructions in all of Chambers’ areas of practice. Laura is known for her robust and realistic approach to cases, as well as her compassion and empathy with clients. Laura is often recognised for her thorough preparation and knowledge of each case and her confident and persuasive advocacy ability. Lay clients and professional clients alike often seek to repeatedly instruct Laura.
Laura joined chambers as a tenant in April 2023 following successful completion of pupillage. Prior to commencing pupillage at St Mary’s, Laura worked as a Solicitors Agent and County Court advocate, gaining invaluable advocacy experience within courtrooms across the entirety of the Midlands. Laura was called to the Bar in 2019 following successful completion of the BPTC at BPP Law School in 2019, including achieving an ‘Outstanding’ grade in family law. Laura was also awarded the Regional Leaders Scholarship award at BPP Law School.

Practice Areas
Laura is frequently instructed at all stages of Private Law Children proceedings and has a variety of experience with difficult issues such as: domestic abuse, parental alienation, involvement of 16.4 Guardians, applications for international relocation and issues regarding litigation capacity.
Laura has represented parents, grandparents and Guardians in Private Law cases and is regularly instructed on contested matters, including finding of fact hearings and final hearings.
Laura accepts instructions in Public Law proceedings acting for local authorities, parents and children (through their guardian) at all stages of hearing, including contested interim removal hearings, case management hearings, issues resolution hearings and contested final hearings.
Laura has been instructed in many cases that have involved advocates who are many years her senior and is recognised for her robust but empathetic approach.
Laura has experience in all stages of Financial Remedy proceedings, particularly in First Appointments and Dispute Resolution hearings. Laura also has experience in TOLATA applications and applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act.
Laura also has experience of dealing with issues of litigation capacity within financial remedy proceedings.
Laura has represented both applicants and respondents at all stages of Family Law Act proceedings, including Non-Molestation and Occupation orders and within linked Private Law proceedings.
Laura has represented clients in cases involving significant domestic abuse, including sexual abuse, alcohol and substances misuse issues, mental health issues and cases concerning alleged relatives.
