
Overview
Graduated in Law from the University of the West of England in 2006. In 2007 she was awarded the Samsung RBL BKVA Scholarship to undertake postgraduate study in South Korea. She completed her MA in International Studies at Yonsei University in Seoul where she lived until 2010. Whilst living in Seoul she also undertook a Political Internship at the British Embassy. Following her return to the UK in 2010 she commenced working as a Paralegal in the family department of a Solicitor’s firm in Loughborough where she worked until 2014. Whilst working as a paralegal she gained experience across a wide variety of family work including private law children, public law children, and ancillary relief. She frequently assisted with complex public law cases involving suspected non-accidental injuries including multiple fractures and brain injuries.
In 2011 she was awarded a BPTC Scholarship from The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. She studied for the BPTC at the College of Law, Birmingham from 2011 – 2013 on a part-time basis whilst working full time and was graded ‘Very Competent’. She was called to bar in 2013 and joined St Mary’s as a tenant in April 2015.
In her spare time, Jennifer volunteers for Conservation Charity Helping Rhinos.
Practice Areas
Jennifer is regularly instructed in private law children cases including fact finding hearings and final hearings. She has experience in cases involving allegations of serious domestic abuse and implacable hostility. In addition she has experience of applications on behalf of family members for leave to apply for section 8 orders.
Jennifer has been instructed on behalf of Local Authorities, parents, interveners and children in public law children cases. She has experience of all stages of hearings in care proceedings from initial directions, contested interim removal hearings to multi-day hearings. She has experience of case involving parents seeking permission to revoke/oppose placement and adoption orders.
Jennifer has experience in representing Applicants and Respondents in applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders including urgent hearings and final hearings.

Recent Cases
Jennifer represented a father in private law proceedings who was facing allegations that he had sexually, physically and emotionally abused the mother. The court dismissed all of the allegations against the father and found as proven three out of the four allegations he brought against the mother.
Jennifer represented a mother throughout private law proceedings from directions hearings to final hearing. The proceedings involved a finding of fact hearing in which the mother was alleging sexual, physical and emotional abuse against the father, she was successful in securing all of the findings sought against the father.
