Overview
Hannah graduated in Law from Nottingham Trent University in 1999 and was called to the Bar in 2000. Between 2000 and 2001 she worked as a Referral Order Liaison Officer for the Nottingham Youth Offending Team. Following a predominantly family law pupillage in 2001 at 4 Brick Court, London, she practised there until joining St. Mary’s Chambers in April 2007.
Practice Areas
For more than 23 years, Hannah has practised in all areas of child care law, but predominantly public law.
Hannah has represented local authorities, parents, children’s guardians and the Official Solicitor in extremely complex, high-profile cases involving conflicting medical opinion, serious sexual abuse of adults and children, serious physical abuse of children involving non-accidental injuries and child death and factitious illness syndrome.
Hannah has been recognised by solicitors as being particularly skilled in in representing vulnerable parents and those with learning difficulties
Hannah has particular experience of representing Neurodiverse parents and children and has a real interest in ensuring such clients in both public and private law proceedings are properly represented and supported during the court process.

Hannah has extensive knowledge and experience of acting for Local Authorities parents and young people in DOLs cases in the National Dols Court and within Care Proceedings
Hannah is keen to increase her private law practice particularly in the area of Neurodiverse parents and children. She has personal and professional experience of this and a real skill in dealing sensitively with both parents and children.
Hannah Regularly acts for local authorities in Court of Protection Matters.

Hannah has been led by Kings Counsel in a number high profile complex cases involving child death, sexual abuse, factitious illness and non accidental injuries.
Hannah has herself been a leading junior.
Hannah has appeared in the Court of Appeal in several reported cases
Representing a children’s guardian within care proceedings where a child had died.
Representing parents in a number of cases involving very serious intergenerational familial sexual abuse.
Representing mother in complex care proceedings where there had been previous extensive relevant litigation including a lengthy inquest and a number of high court probate proceedings and a judicial review. Led by Marianna Hildyard QC.
